  • John Burke

    Managing Director

    John has enjoyed 30 years Insurance Broking experience and has worked across the Regional Victorian, Sydney and Melbourne markets.

    Today John services a wide variety of commercial, industrial and manufacturing clients across Australia backed up by the fantastic team at BML. He has proven strengths in all facets of insurance and is passionate about our clients receiving the highest level of service.

    He holds a Diploma of Insurance Broking, is an Affiliate Certified Insurance Professional (CIP) of ANZIIF and holds Qualified Practising Insurance Broker Status (QPIB) with NIBA.

    John is also on the board of Insurance Advisernet Australia Pty Ltd, is a director of the Insurance Advisernet Foundation and has held many voluntary roles within the community.

    Outside of work, John enjoys travelling with his partner Gillian, spending time with their four adult children and fishing Westernport, Port Phillip and anywhere else he can with friends.

  • Jacob Magennis

    Director of Broking

    Jacob commenced in the insurance industry over 18 years ago.  He began his career with a medium-sized brokerage in country Victoria, where he developed strong foundations with the complexities of Insurance and solid customer service values.

    Over the last 11 years, he has been working in Melbourne across a diverse range of clients and industry sectors. This experience has equipped Jacob the ability to provide tailored solutions for businesses of all sizes.

    He takes the time to listen, learn, and collaborate with business owners and decision-makers to identify risks, provide sound advice, and design insurance programs that offer comprehensive protection.

     He holds a Diploma of Insurance Broking and spends significant time each year with ongoing professional development to further enhance his knowledge.

     In his downtime, Jacob and his partner Meagan can be found exploring the parks and gardens of Melbourne with their young daughter Olive, travelling and following the mighty (or not so mighty) Essendon Football Club.

  • Trish Price

    Senior Account Manager

    Trish has over 30 years Insurance Broking experience across a wide range of industries and has worked with our Managing Director John Burke for much of this period.

    She is highly regard by both her peers and clients for her exceptional service, advice and claims management.

    Trish holds a Diploma of Insurance Broking, is an Associate Member of ANZIIF and holds Qualified Practising Insurance Broker Status (QPIB) with NIBA.

    Outside of work, Trish is a life member of the Nilma Darnum Football and Netball Club where she has been involved for 30 years and enjoys getting away with her husband Neville in their Caravan to remote parts of Australia.

  • Rebecca Longmuir

    Senior Account Manager

    Bec has enjoyed over 25 years in Insurance Broking working in Queensland, Regional Victoria and Melbourne managing large commercial clients with complex insurance needs.

    She has a proven track record of building close working relationships with clients, and ensures their risk exposures are addressed adequately, so that they have an insurance program that responds to their needs when it matters most!

    Bec holds a Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking), is a Senior Associate of ANZIIF and holds Qualified Practising Insurance Broker Status (QPIB) with NIBA.

    When not working, Bec enjoys running, dining out with her husband Dean and spending leisure time up at Moama on the Murray River.

  • Kellie Hornsby

    Internal Account Executive
    Kellie has worked in the insurance industry since 2011 and brings significant experience to her role. She recently joined BML Risk Advisers and is excited to connect with our clients, continuing our commitment to personalised, high-quality service.

     She holds a Tier 1 Insurance Broking Certificate through ANZIIF and offers extensive industry knowledge and dedication to every client interaction.

    Outside of work, Kellie enjoys spending time with her two nieces and catching up with friends and family across Australia.

  • Siela Giummarra

    Administration Assistant

    After completing her IT degree at university, Siela initially commenced her career as an IT consultant for several years prior to joining the insurance industry 12 years ago.

    Siela provides outstanding support to our BML team and clients with her leading administrative skills along with systems and process efficiency capabilities.

    In her downtime, Siela can be found running her two children around to sports, exploring new cuisines with her husband Danny and travelling when possible.

  • Karen Yeoh

    Administration Assistant

    Karen brings over 13 years of experience in the insurance industry, having started her career with RACV in customer sales and service.

    In her role, Karen provides essential administrative and processing support, helping ensure our operations run smoothly and our clients receive timely, high-quality service.

    Outside of work, Karen enjoys staying active with long walks alongside her dog, travelling overseas, and exploring Australia in a caravan with her husband, Mark.

  • Sam Licciardi

    Senior Client Consultant

    Sam commenced his insurance broking operations in late 1972 and has enjoyed over 50 years of insurance excellence.

    Sam holds a Diploma of Insurance Broking and holds Qualified Practising Insurance Broker Status (QPIB) with NIBA.

    As testament of Sam’s professionalism and knowledge gained over a lifetime in insurance, many of those same clients that were clients back in the 1970’s, remain clients of BML Risk Advisers today. Working in this Industry has never been just a job, however a passion for Sam.

    Today Sam remains involved with BML as a part-time consultant and continues to manage relationships with many of these long-term loyal clients/friends.

    In his semi-retirement, Sam spreads his time between Melbourne and the Mornington Peninsula with his wife Tiziana, enjoys spending time with his adult children and grandchildren and travelling both locally and internationally.

  • Craig Wells

    Senior Client Consultant

    Craig has over 40 years of experience in the insurance industry, including 20 years running his own successful broking practice before merging with BML Risk Advisers.

    He holds a Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking) and has extensive experience advising corporate and commercial clients across a wide range of industries.

    Known for his practical advice and strong client relationships, Craig continues to provide reliable, tailored insurance solutions as part of the BML team.

    Outside of work, he enjoys golf as a member of The National Golf Club, travelling, and spending time with his wife Lisa and their two adult children.
